IHT in Andalucia

Postby El Cid » Wed Oct 12, 2016 10:59 am

There have been some recent changes to the IHT rules in Andalucia.

They are very significant and arguably, very generous.

Rather than detail them all here, this link explains them.

Looks a valuable guide....cannot though agree with the very optimistic timescale given....."My father passed away. Can I simply change the (Spanish) deeds over to my name?
You first need to appoint a legal expert who will handle the Spanish side of the inheritance. Once Spanish inheritance tax has been filed and paid can you then change the ownership in the deeds over to your own name. On average you are looking at six to twelve months overall until the deeds are in your name; providing a Spanish will was made. "
Our friend died two years ago and we paid for the funeral, and although we have recovered some of the money we are still owed around 1000€. Her husband died late last year, cremated 1st January. The solicitors in Nerja have not yet completed transfer to his grandson, nor shown any sign of doing so, or repaying us our money from the estate..not all abogados are equal...
The saddest people are those that cannot laugh at themselves
