My friend and his wife who are non-residents in Spain are selling their apartment. Both their names are on the escritura. Because his wife has had a stroke recently it is not possible for her to return to Spain. Can anyone advise me what my friend needs to do to get a power of attorney for his wife so that he can go and complete the sale on his own?
Many Thanks.

Re: Power of Attorney for someone who can't return to Spain
These people will be able to help:
https://www.depinna.com/specialist-span ... ranslation
They may require a draft power of attorney in Spanish in the first instance. If so I can put your friends in contact with a legal translator in Málaga who can prepare it and deal with Depinna from start to finish.
Your friends would not need to travel to London as DePinna would carry out the necessary translation then send the document to a normal notary nearest to your friends' residence for signing. They could even arrange for a notary to travel to their home if she is totally incapacitated but this would add expense to an already expensive procedure.
Once signed DePinna would arrange for the document to be legalised with the Apostille of the Hague Convention at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office then send it to you by courier or registered post.
Please PM me if you require any further information.
