Obtaining a Nota Simple
I have the cadastral reference (referncia catastral del inmueble) for a piece of land and I am trying to find out the owner. I have the nota simple for another house and it contains everything I need to know. I am presuming that a nota simple for the land will have all the same data (presuming it is up to date etc)
So I went online to try to get a nota simple. There are various online services but they ask for the IDUFIR number. It is not the same as the cadastral reference as it is in a format with just numbers no letters
Any ideas how I get this IDUFIR number?

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
If you go directly to the Property Registrar web site it gives various options to identify the property but I don't think the referencia catastral is one of them as this is held by Catastro.
Third party web sites charge through the nose for a service which costs just over €10 with the official one.

That is what I did but the information I have is sketchy...apart from the cadastral! I tried it so let's see if it comes back. There are 5 I need to do so went with 1 and see what comes back.

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
The cadastral and the nota simple might be different...You need to get the nota simple at the registration office...

I am trying to get the nota simple...that is the whole problem.
The registration office is a long way from me hence I am trying to get it online for which I need the IDUFIR. Any ideas how I get the IDUFIR?

No luck. Put in all the information I had (the address) but they came back to say I need some identification number (IDUFUR etc,), I put the cadastral reference in the notes but it was no use.

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
I've been googling, and have some info on IDUFIR - it's in a word doc file, so can't really post it, but if you pm me with your email address I can send it to you

Thanks for the offer. You can attach a file to a public posting. I have attached one to this message. Then it will be available to anyone who searches the topic going forwards.

I don't think you can attach .doc or .pdf files.

Hmm, I'll see if I can convert it to a .jpeg & keep it legible

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
OK, I've converted the file to a .jpeg & it's reasonablt legible & hopefully I will be able to attach it to this post. I'm a bit concerned that it might not be legible in the post, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
Hmm, that didn't work - it keeps coming up with 'ERROR'. I notice that the icon for the file has a little padlock by it & I'm wondering if a.) that's the reason for the error message, & b.) how I get rid of the padlock ?
Anyone - help ??

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
Do you mean it has a padlock when it is in a folder on your computer or after you have uploaded it to A.com? It may have some kind of copyright protection that has been transferred to the jpeg file or the system may be rejecting it because it is a written document rather than a graphic.
Can you not just give a link to the Word doc?

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
When I go to the folder where the file is, the file icon has a little padlock next to it. I didn't have a problem copying the page from the web to the .doc file, so I don't think it is anything to do withcopyright.
To get a jpeg, I copied the .doc to CorelDraw, & then exported it in .jpeg form. I've done this loads of times, but never had this padlock before (as far as I recall)
I'll try it again, but keep a lookout for anything that might indicate some kind of 'block'
The .doc is on my computer - surely I shouldn't be linking it to anywhere ?

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
Just tried again, but still get a padlock - sorry.
OK - I had a thought and opened the file with Microsoft Picture manager, and there was an option to export that file, so I did & now have a file with no padlock, so here goes .....
Well it worked but all that messing around has made it virtually unreadable.
I'll do what I should have done in the beginning, & paste the links

Re: Obtaining a Nota Simple
Thanks Chrissie
I got somebody to go to the registry of properties in the town and what you have posted confirms what they found out. In short to get a nota simple you have to know who owns the property and have their DNI or have the IDUFIR.
So in Spain to find out who owns a piece of land you have to be the owner as there is no publicly available information that tells you who the owner of land or a building is.
Time to get the local asomada on the scene and start asking around!
