Legal implications

Postby Manchesteral » Wed Mar 20, 2019 9:13 am

I know that the initial responses to this topic will be "Why not use local labour " etc, but this is a theoretical question and may not actually happen but, does anyone know or have reliable information on the following subject: If one was to buy a near derelict but originally legally built property in the Malaga area and bring a team of house restorers/bulders from another country in the E U what are the legal implications, employment laws, social security and taxes etc, any information would be welcome, thanks !
The project would last about six months b t w !

You can bring them under posted worker status (link). It's technically for people in long term jobs to take a temporary gig abroad without needing an entirely new job, but it's widely abused for temporary purposes (it's how many British holiday season staff are recruited for beach hotels and ski chalets, and also how many Portuguese and Polish construction workers are employed in France and Germany). Look up EU posted worker and go from there.
