Just had a quick look at completing my Renta 2018.
There is a new question, "Do I have a pension from abroad?"
Yes I have a UK OAP and a UK company pension which I have had all the time I have lived here and have paid my Spanish tax on them.
However is the question only referring to UK Civil Service type pensions that are taxed in the UK?
Cheers

Re: Renta 2018
I expect you have worked this out for yourself by now but if you click 'Yes' and incorporate the pension from abroad it puts it in Box 0003 so I don't think this would include a civil service pension taxed in the UK because it goes in a different box.
If you click 'No' you can enter the pensions manually in whichever box you think they need to go.

Re: Renta 2018
Thanks for the reply.
I clicked "No" and put it in the "earned Income" box as I have done in previous years.
I will do a new declaration and click "Yes" and put it in Box 0003 just to see if it makes any difference.

I tried that. It comes out the same for me!
Re: Renta 2018
Just tried it and using the option "click 'Yes' and incorporate the pension from abroad it puts it in Box 0003 " shows a lower tax due.
I'll go through it all again sometime later and check the figures I entered.
Cheers

Re: Renta 2018
Oh, thank goodness for that. I thought I was missing something and was about to go over my figures again! However, it does put some of my wife's income in the wrong box treating it as earned income rather that income from economic activity but there is a warning about that.

Re: Renta 2018
There has been a major increase in allowance for low incomes.
Up until now, there was a special allowance for earned income (including pensions) of €3700 for incomes in the range of €11250 to €14450. Incomes between those two figures were reduced pro rata so that incomes above €14450 got no extra allowance.
For 2018 these figures have been revised upwards. The allowance is now €5565 and the band is increased from €13115 to €16825.
This is a major increase and will affect a lot of residents with the UK state pension with other small private/company pension income.
