Property False Alarms in Spain

Postby pensure1988 » Mon May 06, 2019 10:00 am

I recently read on Andalucia.com that it is illegal to call the police if a false alarm is triggered . What is the latest news regarding this topic. Has a Legal Boletin be issued in this matter.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Why would anyone call the police if they knew it was a false alarm?

Or do you mean that they called the police and then found out it was a false alarm?

Also what sort of alarm are you talking about - burglar alarm, car alarm??

Hi Sid

Burglar Alarms linked to a Police Station. False Alarms Police responded to. I now believe Police are clamping down on these unnecessary call outs. Is this true?????

No. The alarm companies check whether it is a real alarm or not, by looking at the photos and listening and also by calling you to confirm (if possible) whether it is a false alarm. When they are satisfied that it is for real, they call the police or one of their own operatives.

The police do not allow domestic alarms to be connected directly to the police.
