Extramadura-Huelva - where to visit?

Postby oliveview01 » Sun Aug 10, 2008 5:51 pm

We would like to take our visitor somewhere different from the usual Jerez/Sevilla/Cadiz route, mainly to give us a different place to see! Anyone here who can advise on any good places to visit up to 2 hours or so from Sevilla, just for a day trip? Thanks

The Sierra de Aracena is lovely, and still mostly unspoiled :D

the area of Extramedura is extremely pretty though if you are going this month be aware it is very very hot there.my friends there texted me today and they have it in the mid 40s!it is a lot more oldworld up there and a much more laid back way of life to that in seville.well worth a trip september-november tho.

The Rio Tinto mines are worth checking out, and Jabugo is famous for it's ham and has a museum etc.

Many thanks, we will sit down with the map and guide book and have a good look to see what is or looks interesting. We will be going to Portugal in September with different visitors!
