Hi we have asmall SL company. I have heard that the government is trying to help small companies by allowing them to reclaim their IVA due every three months, ha anyone been able to do this or is everyone still haing to wait the usual one year. As a small business it is horrendous having to wait this long

Yes, as of this year, the Tax Agency permits small business owners to request the return of IVA every three months and in some cases, even monthly, when they make their quarterly tax declaration, the "Pago Fraccionado". Because this is relatively new, none of my sources yet has an answer to the real question, which is, How long are they taking to make the return?
The real bad news, however, is that, in order to do this, you had to enter yourself in a "Devolución de IVA" Registry at the beginning of the year. Check this with your own asesor fiscal, or go into the Tax Agency office to be absolutely sure how it works.
