When do they go back in Sept 10?

Postby Zofia » Sat Apr 10, 2010 10:38 am

Does anyone know when schools start after the summer this year in Granada? Last year was a bit earlier than usual. My daughter in the UK is getting married on the 18th so I'm hoping the boys won't miss too much school. The Junta site only has this year's term dates on.

It will be roughly the same as the school year 2009-2010.
So somewhere around the 7th to the 10th

Damn, I was hoping it would revert back to how it used to be - around the 20th. That's messed up our plans then! Wanted to drive to UK and back and stop off in Disneyland Paris, but that now may mean the boys missing too much school. Bloody inconsiderate of my daughter to choose that date!

Does the school know? Ask them. Mind you, round here the schools didn't seem to know until the last minute last year.

Last year they went back earlier than ever - on the 10th, it was always around the 15th before.

Ask the school and let them know if your children will be back late, ours have never minded.

I went to the school yesterday and asked the secretary, and she didn't know! She guessed around the 10th and said I just needed to let them know if the boys were going to miss some time. It didn't seem to be a problem.

Thanks Steve, I asked the teacher on the last day of term and she didn't really know either (can you imagine that happening in the UK?) but thought Friday 10th. That's good cos it means they can go back and sort out new classes etc and then go away for the wedding.

I should have aded that the info on school dates came fom the angloinfo web site, not an official source. I assume it is correct.

Might be worth adding the site to your favourites for future reference
