Postby Acen » Tue Dec 07, 2010 1:45 pm

How much are people paying for their car insurance.

Mine just goes up and up every year for no reason what so ever for essentially a motorised shopping trolley!!!!

Sounds too cheap for fully comp!!!

I don´t think you´ll gather much useful information by knowing how much each person is paying for their insurance as it depends on so many factors about the vehicle, the person who is being insured, their driving record etc etc.

the only thing I could say is that I don´t pay more each year.

years ago I always stayed with the same insurer, but nowadays it´s worth comparing prices shortly before the renewal date and swopping insurers each year if neccessary.
I use an agent who each year automatically checks and compares prices before the renewal dates and tells me if he finds something better value for money for me.

it´s a shame, but being a good, faithful customer doesn´t pay off nowadays, you have to change insurers, change banks etc etc as they give better deals to new customers than they do existing customers.
being faithful is thing of the past (and not only with insurance and banks  )

if you drive a pram get insurance !! :wtf:

Linea Directa for a nearly 7 year old Fiat Doblo was €295 for 3rd party fire & theft. I got a quote from Zurich for next year of €215.

Yes it includes breakdown recovery , I think they all have to by law except for some oversize vans .

As Julian says, staying faithful is a thing of the past with insurance, despite what they might claim.

Always worth getting several quotes. If cheaper than your current insurer, go to them and quote the cheapest you have had. They may well match it.

Don't know if breakdown cover is mandatory or not but it has always been included in any car insurance I have had in Spain automatically. Maybe I have been paying extra for it without realising it!
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

1999 Ford Focus 1.6 with Linea Direct 289Euros Fully comp, includes Grua recovery and taxi home when breakdown or accident occurs. Car recovered to Grua agent then transported to garage of your choice the following day. Had accident/vehicle damage last February in San Pdero - 2 punctures after driving into pot hole unseen in torrentail rain. Car recovered locally and taxi dropped father and brother in law in Marbella the took me and wife to Monda, included in insurance. Excellent service
