Last minute question

Postby Monterey » Wed Sep 07, 2005 7:17 am

Hi all,

The removals people are coming tomorrow and I have a last minute question.

Is there any point bringing our UK telephones with us - can they still work with a different plug or adaptor in Spain or shall we leave them?

Thanks in advance.

Hi
I'm sure I've read on here they will work so take them with you. I believe you do need an adapter, I expect someone will be along to let you know which one.
Good luck with your move

Some UK telephones will work with just an adaptor to make them fit a Spanish socket but some cordless telephones and faxes need to be plugged into a BT primary socket and then plugged into the Spanish socket. These used to be available from Tandys.

This web site has some useful information on the subject.

If you want to send me a PM I'll give you a friend's website who has just started selling them.
Since I gave up hope I feel much better!

I went to my local Bricolage & asked for an adapter for a UK to Spain telephone, but was sold a Spanish telephone cable.
Just plugged one end into the UK phone, other end into the telephone line. :D It worked

for the price of hiring a telefonica domo phone being 1€ a month, i wouldn´t bother with an english fone, its just more junk to bring.

domo fones include a speaker fone now, and access to messages, and u can write texts on them. why would u want an old bt one ?

And you can even send emails and text faxes from them!

They are also the best phone to handle the free Telefonica answering service as they have special buttons for that.

You need one of these adaptors for each phone or fax. There are 2 types. Make sure you get cat. no. VD36P otherwise your phones won't ring.
