BUYING A NEW LHD CAR

Postby Bongtrees » Sat Sep 10, 2005 12:52 pm

Having looked at new cars this morning with my friend and then compared with same in UK, have found that several are more expensive here.

General attitude here in Valencia area was take it or leave it, no deals and no discounts and many didnt even have cars in stock.

Does anyone know if cars are cheaper in Belgium or Germany or any other country.

Friend not worried about importing to Spain as many of us have experience of that and not eperienced too many problems either.

Once again all contributions greatly appreciated.

The best deals at the moment are definitely, in the following order:
(1) Germany (2) Holland (3) Belgium even with all the taxes, hotel costs, fuel etc you will still save at least 10%, if you don't mind spending 4-5 days away from home!

They will only find you the best prices in Spain, as I said it's cheaper to go to Germany,Holland or Belgium, you will still get all the warranties etc if it's a new car!

You will still lose about 20% in depreciation as soon as you drive it out of the showroom. Better to buy a good 2 or 3 year old car of a good maker from a good dealer (in Germany, or Holland, or where-ever) with full breakdown insurance as a guarantee, you won't lose anything like as much on depreciation in your first year of ownership.

You're right on the button there j, you'll lose the value of the IVA as soon as you drive it away!
