Stair Safety Gate

Postby Campo Steve » Tue Aug 16, 2011 6:59 pm

I'm looking to buy a stair safety gate for the grandchildren coming out. A bit worried about them wandering about at night and falling down the stairs.

Eroski and Carrefour had only obe betwen them and it was expensive. I know you can't put a price on the grandweans safety but the one we saw was five times the price of a similar one in UK.

Toysrus UK have quite a few on their web site but their Spanish site seems to have just one.

Before I go in, does anyone know if they have a selection in-store or any other suggestions?

I know this isn't particularly helpful but when I was looking for one couldn't find many and they where expensive.
Eventually bought one fro Lidl or Aldi, can't remember which one but it was reasonably priced.
Cheers

You could try Amazon.co.uk or buy online at John Lewis and have your guests bring it out.....

Ikea im Malaga have them from 43 euros. We have bought some for our rental villas. There are cheaper ones around but they dont seem as safe.

Didn't see the in LR or Bauhaus when I was there last week but not really looking. More interested in getting a broken shower fixed.

Not appearing on Lidl web site but going to Torre del Mar this afternoon so will see if they have any.

Failing that, Ikea before picking the family up at the airport tomorrow.

Thanks

If they're arriving tomorrow, wasn't it a bit late to post your request yesterday?

Arf arf arf. They had them in Al Campo in Motril last week.

Forgot about it, Mowser.

None in Lidl today so we'll set ogg early for the airport tomorrow and go via Leroy Merlin and Ikea.

Allow plenty of time - with the feria on, we were delayed 45 minutes between the Cartama turn and beyond Plaza Mayor, and over an hour to pass the feria ground on the return.

We went down late morning, left Fuengirola about 6pm to return: this latter coincided with the beginning of the feria ground fair opening, but there are other things like horse and carriage displays on there in the afternoon so there is little chance of missing something going wrong!
Add the usual doubling of traffic during August, and the increase in dozy driver behaviour in hot weather, and I would tell the rellies to come another time! :)

Unfortunately they are already on their way. Left NZ this morning.

We'll treble our normal travelling time and hope that gives us time to go to Ikea before picking them up.

If Murphy's Law is operating, expect you will be the only car on the ring road, and journey times will be half the norm!
Good luck!

No problems with the traffic. Probably one of the best runs we have had. Got gate at Ikea, with 20% discount!

Proves my theory Steve: if I am having a run of bad things happening, it gives others the chance for things to go right!
Just lately, I know that if I fell into a bucket of t1ts, I would come up sucking my thumb...
