Parking P3 Malaga.

Postby country boy » Sun Jan 22, 2012 10:00 am

Is it now properly established as a secure overnight stay alternative to the private companies. I see it listed on the AEna website but I felt it best to check with any member who has been recently, things change rapidly down there!

I used Blue Cat Parking (www.bluecatparking.com) over the Xmas and New Year, pre booked for 2 weeks and paid just over 45 euros. I thought this was very good, the service was too. I simply drove to Departures and was met there by personnel who took my car and parked for me, and on return phoned for courtesy bus and waited about 5 minutes. Perfect. :D

I will have a look at the P3 parking to compare for my next trip. thanks for the report Enrique, but why did you hide it on a thread about a new road?? Never mind it has been found now.

I haven't been to the airport in quite a while. I always used to sneak across the cane fields from the Cartama-Churriana road, going in that way one comes to P3 first. There was a lot of building work going on last time I used it, is that route still available anyone?

Enrique...I've booked...thanks!

I hate traveling :(

Country Boy - yes, the roads still open.

Out of interest, how much have you paid for the 2 nights ?

Did anyone notice a height restriction in P3? We have a 1.97m high van, and a lot of car parks seem to have a 2m max?

Hi popplou,
Didn't notice any, the under cover is slopping roof style.
Give them a ring..................

From a Campo Steve post............."and at least 3/4 of the parking spaces are covered."

That would imply 1/4 open to the sky so no restriction...................

I'm sure there was no over-height restriction on the entry gate, I can't swear to it, but as a holder of an HGV licence and the owner of a JCB I do tend to notice these things. As Enrique correctly points out, some of the parking is in the open air so there should be no restrictions. The people in the office are very nice, do give 'em a ring, or do a reccy!

I don't remember seeing a height restriction sign but, being in a normal car, I wouldn't have been looking for one.

However, there must be some restriction as the entrance is covered. It's quite high though as their bus fits under it.

I think that bus is at Barcelona but the ones at Malaga are very similar.

Thanks everyone for the info, I will go and have a look beforehand.

I can't tell you the number of times we have taken our lives in our hands in Spanish underground car parks showing height limits of 2.05m, only to find large concrete lumps hanging down from the roof, painted red so we can weave around them ...or ventilation ducts that seem to have been added as afterthoughts to the ceiling.
