Yippeeeee! €1.23 to £

Postby ashtondav » Mon Apr 30, 2012 12:54 pm

Coming out in a couple of days and just changed £500 on currencyfair for €1.23. As near as dammit 81p per euro.

Now, for September can we have €1.30, please?

the bbc report that the highest its ever been is 1.22750 in the last 12 months.

are you sure you got 1.23??

i do know of places on the costa that will give you an excellent rate but essentially its a money laundering operation.

Yes, that's what's great about currencyfair.com - you enter the rate you are prepared to accept and see if thre's a seller. I was lucky, there was.

That was the rate at the end of the day. It went over 1.23 on Monday.

It's just (10.45 Wednesday) gone through the 1.23 level again. If it goes a little higher it will have broken through the resistance level and could go higher.

everyone can get 1.2035 right now from Caxton FX with a little as eur 200 ( could even be 150, but I usually top up 200 at a time ). Goes straight on your card, to the debit of your debit card.

What you see on the tin, is what you get.

I believe you can get them to pay straight to your bank account now too, but I expect you would not get the same rate for small amounts.

If I paid a sterling cheque into my Spanish bank today I would have got 1.22.

1.20 doesn't seem very good to me.

It's funny, currencyfair.com crashes my IE8 but is OK with Firefox.

Yes but insignificant. The rate I quoted included the charges.

Chris Towner, at specialist foreign currency firm HiFX, predicted that the pound should strengthen further.

"It is at very tempting levels, but sterling is still undervalued against the euro," he said.

"It should reach 1 euro 27, or 1 euro 28, in the coming months."

Richard Driver, at Caxton FX, said the pound should rise further in the coming months.

"We've seen sterling climb this year as the European debt crisis has come to a head."

"Sterling has a pretty decent safe-haven status - we think it will reach 1 euro 30 by this autumn."

Well bought at 1.2120 from Caxton today, but re above, there may be more to come !

Until the two stooges said that things in the UK are far worse than they've been saying ! :lolno: Tell me another one ! As if we didn't know. Unemployment 9% , 2,65 million !! Yea tell me another one . Lets add in those on DLA, 3,25 million , another 11%. Then there's incapacity benefit ,1,5 million , 5%. We are up to 25% already & climbing without adding in all the other schemes that they've come up with to keep the 'unemployed' figure down.
There is , at least , another 5% that can be added to the 25% ,possibly more. On par with Spain !!
Many people knew it was todas mentiras from the outset.

He was on Simon Mayo's show tonight and said he expected it to reach €1.30 once Greece has left the Euro.

Except you can't automatically add everyone in receipt of DLA into the equation, as you can receive DLA and be working. A former colleague of mine worked full time and still received it (quite legally).

Do you really think that Spain doesn't lie  People who have fallen out of benefit after two years are not counted and that's just for a starting example.

Yeah, yeah, beginning to sound like a internet myth. There are other figures to support the unemployment ones like manufactoring down over 10% in a year. Even if it were so it's not going to help the country is it! Someone from Wall St. Journal said on TV tonight that Spain is the titanic heading for an iceburg...still what do they know, probably just sour grapes
