Spanish Driving licencs

Postby jane grant » Wed Nov 16, 2005 11:05 am

The recent post re spanish v english driving licences has reminded me of a posting a while ago where it stated you could not hire a car in the USA on a spanish licence. Is it posssible to get an international licence anywhere that would be valid, or is there anither way round this? Just curious, but may want to go to the USA or Canada in the future, and am convinced that Spanish people must visit there and hire cars somehow.

You can hire a car in the USA but they charge more for a spanish licence. We went with another couple who had spanish licences and had to pay more than us. we were hiring cars together at the same desk.
