Sepp Blatter
I see old Sepps preparing the way for his forthcoming trial using the old "suffering from stress" strategy as his opening gambit, I can't wait for this to unfold ! next comes the dementia defence !

Re: Sepp Blatter
Last night's BBC Panorama investigation was masterful.
The Godfather had nothing on these guys.
And it takes something for the Swiss to come crashing down on one of their own.
What on earth happened to sportsmanship in all this?
Personally, I blame Thatcher.
It will take some years, and a lot of effort, to get this monumental greed out of the system.
Trouble is, it's self-perpetuating.

Country Boy, I would not describe it as amazing rhetoric. i would describe it as PATHETIC rhetoric born out of a truly warped sense of logic.

Irony, me thinks.
I'd prefer it if these gangsters were not associated with sport.

Re: Sepp Blatter
These organisations follow the same pattern, awash with money and a lack of accountability propped up by corrupt third world leaders. Even European football supported Blatter. The Olympic committee has been doing the same for years, being wined and dined and accepting kick backs. Money talks and none wants to kill the golden goose.
In the same league although not sport, is the Climate change Committee or whatever it's called, UNICEF. Too employs the likes of Beckham and Lots of other talentless famous for being famous to go on jollies around the world pretending they are giving up their time for charity when they are getting massive expenses and free publicity.

Re: Sepp Blatter
As this is a sport section, I would question the fact that Beckham is talentless.
By far the best crosser of a football I've ever seen.

Re: Sepp Blatter
Wel,l he couldn't play at the top level any more but he looked pretty good to me a few weeks ago in a charity football match.
Not really debatable either. So many England managers, Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and PSG can't all be wrong, can they?

Re: Sepp Blatter
He won't play for a team again will he. He is now a hustler, the charity match was all arranged. He will have been paid for that too.

Re: Sepp Blatter
Well, I'm glad I've been put right on all that, then . . .
No ludicrous salaries and bonuses
No back-handers
No political access in exchange for 'fees'
No Cabinet stuffed with Old Etonians and Bullingdon
No unaccountable remuneration committees
No-one in the UK earning in a day what some of their employees earn in a year
No such thing as society
My mistake. My attention must have been elsewhere.

Did you know he gave away his salary he earned during his spell with PSG? £3.4mkaty wrote:He won't play for a team again will he. He is now a hustler, the charity match was all arranged. He will have been paid for that too.
He earned 47 million dollars in his last year as a professional. He has just bought a football club
I don't think he is scrambling around for cash.
Of course he's all hype isn't he?
