Gardening Noise on Sunday

Postby jimmy7 » Fri Mar 18, 2016 8:14 pm

Can any one throw any light on gardening noise on a Sunday in Mijas.

We have a problem with the gardener in the next urbanization carrying out mowing, strimming and blowing garden rubbish on a Sunday until dusk.
The reason he does it on a Sunday is because he has a full time job gardening the rest of the week on a different urbanization.
Would appreciate if anybody can point me in direction of any legislation that clarifies the rules.

Not sure about this but if it's an urbanisation there should be rules as to when this can/ should be done.
You're lucky you've got grass to mow!

"gardening noise on a Sunday"......what only one day a week..........

In the Campo its 7 days............chainsaws, strimming, prunings shredded/burnt,weed sprayers. and those lovely Lamborghini tractors, that are known for their bold style, their performance, design and exclusive appeal that sets them apart.................

And then there's the **** dogs. Strimmer starts and the canine chorus starts yapping, barking and growling.

It's Spain, mate - ear plugs the only defence!

Hi jimmy7,
Sorry we're not very sympathetic for your predicament..........Spain is a noisy Country....

Some light reading that may give you some clues on where to look for the Legal side............

On the Practical side getting the guy to stop i.e. lose his Sunday job will not make him a happy bunny .

PS: its raining here today so the only noise .............the birds are singing................ :D

Not Sunday, I know, so not strictly on topic, but last night at 4:00am, the local council decided to park a water truck outside our window and start washing the street :wtf:
They normally do it on a Saturday afternoon, which is bad enough, but at that time? The drone of the engine, and the fumes from the motor (there's no way that truck could pass an ITV) made sleep absolutely impossible. I went out on the terrace and shouted down to them "Oi! We're trying to sleep here!"
Response? "Y que? We're trying to work".
Yep. This is Spain
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

Constant dog barking/ moped whine/ agricultural machinery noises/Fiesta revellers etc. used to bug me, but now I'm more worried if it's too quiet.... :(

I did some gardening today as it was well overdue. Some noise with the cutter and strimmer so I had the radio on full blast to hide the sound! :lolno:
