Euro Championships Football 2016

Postby Pamela1 » Tue Jun 14, 2016 7:00 pm

Well as Lavanda suggested, a new thread for the footie...i know there is one already..mostly about tv channels etc but what do people actually think about the matches they have watched so far?
We watched the Spain match in La Tasca in Manchester city centre while we were there for an overnight stay...they had a great atmosphere, enjoyed the tapas and San Miguel...Hubby and son thought they had too many in midfield however their man of the match was Iniesta....having said that they thought the Italy match was more exciting...Hoping Spain get through as we will be watching it from Andalucia next week...

Croatia shook Spanish complacency on the pitch (speaking as a Spanish football fan). Good match. It'll be even more interesting with Italy v Spain on Monday. Looking forward to it!

Is there a degree of irony here? Today all 4 teams through to the last 16 of the Euro Finals.
Tomorrow we vote on whether to stay in the EU!!

The shame of it is that either way, a good team will go out too early for the sake of the overall competition. (Match on Monday for sure @ 6:00 p.m./UK, 5:00p.m./ES I believe.) Having said that, Croatia and other teams are doing well, and Wales could do well if Bales continues to play to his Real Madrid form.

Chris, yes you are right about a good team will go out early in the competition...Son likes the way even the teams at the bottom are still involved in a fight for qualification and its given both Irelands an extra chance...so still a lot to look forward to..

England started well but Iceland are keeping on top of them...if England loses against little Iceland i think it will be the worst result in the history of English football. :(
