Travel Insurance for wrinklies
Any recommendations for one-trip or longer-term travel insurance for the more mature traveller - one diabetic? For residents of Spain of course.

We took out a yearly, multi trip policy from http://www.globelink.co.uk/policy-optio ... rance.htmla couple of years ago. We had no existing conditions, one 59 years old and one 66 years old,but I can't remember how much it was ,maybe old age kicking in, but I don't think it was too expensive for peace of mind.

I am starting to find out how getting old costs you! It is a few years since we had any need for travel insurance, and the OH got annual cover for very little. We are looking to cover a trip of less than ten days, within Europe and did not like the price offered by the travel company, so it is time to shop around for the best deal. Their t&c's state that we must have adequate insurance, so cannot just take a complete gamble. I have a range of prices from rastreator.com but am interested in any experience from the good folk of A.com in choosing the best value deal.

If your looking for travel insurance IN EUROPE .... may I ask WHY ?
Any more than your need travel insurance to visit the neighbouring Town
Just what do you expect from insurance that you wouldn't get from not having Insurance
Health - EHIC
Theft - Sue the looser
Repatriation - Over land
Cancelation - ABTA
....and paying stupid premiums for illness that you have already under control ...
I can understand travel insurance for say USA or any long Haul Holiday ...but for Europe - No - we are still members of Europe until AFTER brexit

Op did say the T&L of his policy demand it. And I certainly wouldn't want the basic level of cover in some eu countries.

Not so Peter. Look lower down on the home page for 'Insurance for expats'.

They tuck that away! Thanks Brian.
Martin, repatriation over land from a Greek island would be a neat trick...

I can endorse Staysure. We used them each time we drove over from Spain and very easy to take out cover via the Internet.
