Spanish Reg car to the UK
Re: Spanish Reg car to the UK
Could you let me know who? I have looked around and nobody except the "specialist" (so called because they can the charge you what they want) insurers will insure on Chassis number alone?
Re: Spanish Reg car to the UK
Adrian flux a few years ago and Axa on a car I had imported from France. AXA will do it for 30 days for sure. If you have a hiccup and don’t give them a reg no they cancel with no refunds.

Thanks for your kind comments and for your own experiences. Excellent info to share on this forum!MartinEB wrote:Anyone thinking of taking their Spanish Reg car back to the UK and registering it in the UK should start by reading this superb account by White Horse. Absolutely priceless and something I have just used to guide me through the process.White Horse wrote:I documented my experiences here:

Tried them both. Adrian Flux will only do an annual policy on the chassis number and quoted me £775! But I only need a chassis number policy for a month until I have a UK Reg number. Phoned Axa and they will not issue any policy documentation until they have a Reg number?
Re: Spanish Reg car to the UK
Have you googled 1 month car insurance, 30 day car insurance and short term car insurance ? There are loads. Aviva seem helpfull. 30 day seems the best search option.
Re: Spanish Reg car to the UK
Thinking about it we may have used Aviva and not AXA. It has been a few years. I have a very good memory but its a bit short. LOL
Re: Spanish Reg car to the UK
Yes tried just about every google combination going! The only one so far is Acorn insurance. Many others will do chassis number insurance but not juts for 30 days, they want the entire year!costakid wrote:Have you googled 1 month car insurance, 30 day car insurance and short term car insurance ? Think I'll stick with Acorn
This is from Aviva, you'll see that to get "short term insurance" your car needs to be registered in GB, but that is the very reason the short term insurance is required, to get the car registered in the first place!
