Airport transfer help
Airport transfer help
Hi, my daughter and her boyfriend want to stay at ours in Canillas de Albaida during the Whitson holidays. Neither want to drive so they're looking for an airport transfer from Malaga.
Any recommendations out there please?

Re: Airport transfer help
You may try shuttledirect.com
We have used them and they charged 30 euro or so per person form Malaga Airport to Estepona. They drop at fixed points like hotels but nice limos/minibuses.

Re: Airport transfer help
Your route is a popular one but Canillas is inland so I think will not be so cheap. The cab company may get a Torre or Velez drop but not much business inland.

Re: Airport transfer help
I just did a dummy booking to Estepona Town with Shuttledirect and a shared shuttle for two people came out at 108 Euros which seems quite good compared to a taxi.
Re: Airport transfer help
What i would suggest is get the train into Mario Zambrano, it goes every 20 mins costs €1.80? and it is 3 stops down the line.
There is a five minute walk across to the bus station, its all pretty straightforward as long as not tied for time.
I had a look at the Malaga Bus Station site and there is good service to your town €4.96 one way.

Re: Airport transfer help
Richard, it comes into its own when there is only one person. My mate has often been the only one in the limo!
Re: Airport transfer help
I just did a dummy and it was 31.50 euros each way per person Malaga Airport to Estepona so I assume Richard that yours was 2 people return.
I remember it as being around the 30 euro mark and given the bus is 10 euro or so, good value.

Unicorn. On the TA Estepona forum, our brilliant DE Turista Iglesia has written lots of articles. Here's the one which covers airport to Estepona.

Using the bus is quite cheap. You get the airport bus to Marbella bus station then pick up the 79 to Estepona town. It stops at various places including Estepona bus station and along the passeo. Finishes at the bull ring.
What is your mates final destination?

Re: Airport transfer help
Generally go from Malaga Airport to Estepona Port & back. There are two direct airport buses a day to Estepona, the other route to Marbella then the 79 comes to the port but takes an age. It can be an hour and a half stopping everywhere along with the 35 minutes or so for the airport bus. Also there have been times when the 79 has been full and they obviously won't sell anymore tickets. The other way we used to do it was get the bus to Fuengerola and then the the train to the airport, or he reverse, which can avoid traffic near the airport which can be bad.
Shuttle Direct is ideal for here, by the port. Frankly, for a difference of 20 euros I would opt for that! At least it is comfy and the price has already been set so no meter ticking!
They have always seemed very reliable.
Cheers

Try Silvia at Taxi no1 in Canillas de Albaida.

She is very kind and has taken me and my partner from Canillas to the airport several times, think it was about 70 euros if I remember correctly.
Cheers

Re: Airport transfer help
Sylvia is the best value taxi we've used as well. Alternatively get the bus shuttle from airport to Malaga bus station. Then take an Alsa bus to Torre Del Mar to catch Loymerbus from Torre (15 min walk between bus stations allowing for slow stroll with luggage) for the 12:30, 14:00 or 19:30 service to the centre of Canillas De Albaida. Total cost under €10 per head.

Re: Airport transfer help
Many thanks to everyone for your help. I think they arrive at around 7-8pm so might be pushing it to get the last bus up the hill so I'll drop by Bar Cerezo when I'm over next week - is this where Silvia operates from?
