Pool light
Pool light
We have to change our pool light. Do we have to drain the pool to below the light?

Not normally. The light should be on a cable long enough for it to be worked on at the side of the pool. I found the biggest problem was unscrewing the fitting underwater.

Some have a plastic clip on the lower edge, which when tweaked releases the front semi-dome from its backplate. The front part can then be lifted to the poolside on its length of (annoyingly thick) cable.
Other makes available, as they say.

Thank you both!

But don’t stand in water while you change it just in case. Electric and water don’t mix very well.

Re: Pool light
It really should be a 12v supply, via an isolation transformer.
If it's directly off the mains, close the pool immediately!
