Hi,
I'm looking for someone to hire who can help us clean the house, wash, iron, etc.. I think 4 to 5 hours per week.
How does that work here in Spain? How much should I pay? Where do I find someone? Must be someone who speaks and understands English.
Any advice?
Maurice

Hi MauriceW,
Ask around in your village, there always seems to be ladies that like cleaning. Up this way that seems to be their life's work.
" Must be someone who speaks and understands English".........why. ..........the ladies my wife is using speak no English'
Our first one charged 8€/hr unless she was cleaning up behind builders then it was 9€/hr, our current one is 9€/hr.

I'm in the coin / alhaurin el grande area.
English, because my wife must be able to communicate with her and explain things. So a little English will do

Re: Hire someone to help housework
My OH has agreed to me getting one of those AI Robots to do the housework and cooking. I simply can't wait.
Re: Hire someone to help housework
My wife employs me...slave rates, usually paid with food.
I'm an expert at mopping ( due to having worked as a deckhand on a submarine )..
In our village average costs are 8-12 euros per hour depending if it's a pensioner etc.
Most are cash in hand, but beware the 'employer' can also be fined if caught employing illegal workers and could be held responsible if an accident occurs.!

Gordon...
