Hotel recommendation in Málaga, please

Postby ChrisM » Thu Aug 17, 2017 8:15 pm

We're going to Málaga in a few months, for a long weekend. We want to avoid the bland chains, with their boxy styles which could be plonked anywhere in the world. Is there a traditional, Andalucian-style design hotel with a family feel that anyone could recommend?

Quirky forum request no. 7,986 I know but put it down to age. Perfect excuse, and I'm sticking to it. :wtf:

I can give you two recommendations. I too am fed up with the Boutique Hotels. OK the first is not in the centre but down by the Malagueta Beach. It is Hotel Las Vegas. Paseo de Sancha. When we stayed it was €90 room(double with balcony)and an amazing breakfast. It also has a lovely pool area. Buses run regularly into Malaga centre. You have the best of both worlds. The second is the Petit Paris which is just off Paseo Larios. The welcome we got here was amazing. Great location for my Hubby's 80th Birthday. Hope this helps a little.

If you are looking for somewhere typically Andalucian in style, I would recommend La Casa de Las Mercedes (very close to the Teatro Cervantes). We have stayed there are enjoyed it very much.

Not far from Hotel Las Vegas is a small hotel called Casa Azul, in Avda. de Príes. This might be a good fit for your needs and it seems to have good reviews. It certainly looks nice from the outside.

I wouldn’t say Las Vegas hotel is a typical Andalusian hotel.

Whats your price range?

Thanks for your replies, everyone. Price up to £130 I would say. That's pretty much the same in Euros these days?! :wtf:

Thanks - that's the very style I'm looking for. Much appreciated.

Then you will not like the Las Vegas hotel.

You could also ask your question on the Tripadvisor Malaga Travel Forum.
