mileage on odometer

Postby eveyon » Tue Aug 22, 2017 8:29 pm

Help. Somehow I have managed to change my mileage from 163000k to 874. Don't know how I have done it but I am the only one that drives the car. Is there anyway to rectify this?

Surely you must have an inkling as to what you may have done? It would also be more prudent to tell the members a bit more information if you wish any meaningful replies....ie...Car Make....Model....Year etc and any other detail that may be pertinent.

Sorry.car is a Citroen C3 2002. I don't have the foggiest idea what I did. The only thing I can think of was I was playing about with the clock and date buttons. How can you change the mileage accidently on the dashboard.

I doubt that you have actually changed it permanently. If it was that easy, professional clockers would be out of business.

Yes, almost certainly you've just flipped the display from total miles (ODO) to Trip.

I think it is one of the buttons just below your indicator flashing light. One either side. Press either or and see what happens.

If you keep pushing on the button next to our clock display the reading moves between 2 trip readings and the overall mileage. It's not Citreon but we've had several makes of car and they all seem to have the same system of moving between different readouts.

Thank you all for your help. I had indeed pushed a wrong button. All ok now. Must be my age catching up with me.
