Looking to buy pectin. Do Mercadona sell it?

I've never spotted it in Mercadona, I remember someone told me that you can purchase it from a Farmacia and an old lady told us that she uses 'preserving sugar'.
Some fruits seem to have enough natural pectin , maybe try adding a few drops of lemon juice, another 'tip' given to me years ago...
We usually have it sent from family in UK....

Amazon is always handy, but can be expensive, we usually only pay about £3.00 for the same brand...

Obviously plus carriage, but we have a regular parcel from UK with loose tea, Marmite etc 15-20 kilos by courier costs approx. 20-25 euros, so works out quite cheap....

You can buy Pectin in a chemist or health food shop. I remember seeing it in the latter.

Yes, but these tend to be health supplement tablets rather than large quantities for jam making. Amazon sells these supplements as well.

Ok, I'll ask visitors to bring some over as I want to make chilli jam and I don't think chillies have much pectin!

OH has never made chilli jam but if you add lemon juice that should help or cooking apples as mentioned below. Suggest you make a small batch first to see how it goes ....
A quick look on Google gives the following
Using jam-sugar - preserving sugar as suggested earlier - or powdered pectin https://www.nigella.com/recipes/chilli-jam
Using liquid pectin - http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/1217/spi ... i-jam.aspx
This one suggest adding cooking apples instead of pectin - https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyl ... jam-recipe
This makes no mention of pectin but seems to have more tomatoes than chillies! Two sorts of vinegar might help the setting and the tang! http://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/chilli-jam/
They all sound rather scrumptious!

I've always used the Nigella recipe using powdered pectin, but it doesn't keep so the last lot I made didn't set, so I have sweet chilli sauce now in jars!

If you can get the sugar that includes the pectin then that would work OK. This is not preserving sugar .... that has large crystals that are ideal for using with fruits with naturally high pectin. The sugar with pectin is called jam sugar .... all very confusing! https://www.silverspoon.co.uk/products/ ... ving-sugar

If you're making jam, you can use "azucar de mermelada" which contains enough pectin for that use, alternativeley as others have suggested you can buy powdered pectin from the farmacia !
