Finding a gestor

Postby elizabennett » Fri Nov 30, 2018 2:55 pm

Where can I find a gestor in the Marbella area? Someone to handle paperwork, tax, and general property management.

There are dozens, perhaps hundreds, of gestors in the Marbella area.

The difficulty is finding a good one. Someone may have a recommendation but I would never trust my taxes or any of my paperwork to any Spanish lawyer, gestor or asesor fiscal.

The reason I asked on this forum is that I was hoping someone would recommend a gestor.
For someone who has chosen to live in Spain, it is disrespectful to generalise and make negative comments about Spanish people.

You did not ask for a recommendation you asked where you could find one. I did not generalise about Spanish people I made a comment about the legal profession based on personal experiences, an opinion that is shared by most of my Spanish friends.

I agree with Beachcomber, you really do need to be careful with gestors and abogados - if you find a good one, cultivate him/her and stay with them. If you find you have a bad experience, move on quickly to another. Do try to find personal recommendations. Sorry, we are well west in Huelva so can't help with local knowledge for the Marbella area - perhaps someone will be along to help soon.

Maybe the lack of response is because no one has yet found a good honest reliable gestor?

Perhaps nobody has found a reliable gestor in the Marbella area.
I personally couldn't recommend one in the area where I live as I do all my own tax, paperwork etc.
Cheers

I use a gestor and I’m happy with what he does for me. He was recommended to me by my wife’s family who had used him for years. That’s not much good for you because we live nowhere near each other.......but

I don’t completely agree with other posters because there are some decent ones who will keep you updated with the constant changes in tax laws but I would semi- endorse what others have said so it would be a good idea to get a recommendation from someone who has been using the same gestor over a lengthy period of time
