Leather jacket shop

Postby dingobingo » Mon Dec 31, 2018 7:16 pm

Hi all

Can anyone recommend a leather jacket shop somewhere between Nerja and Malaga? I'm keen to buy something Spanish made as the Morrocan shops that cater to tourists can be very hit and miss. Thanks in advance.

Lots of leather shops in Nerja. Not sure who runs them though.

I have always liked leather jackets and buy one quite often. I used to like very strong heavy ones but as I have got older, the weight became a problem.

I now go to Massimo Dutti because they always have a good range( about 10-12 styles) and they mostly do them in light lambs leather. The prices are good as well. about 150-250 euros or less if you wait until next Monday. If that's the sort of thing you are looking for, give them a try.

I bought a really nice jacket in Nerja at a shop at the junction of Pintada and Post Office street, but they have moved. I’m not sure where they are now but someone said it was near the Monica. They definitely were not Arab speaking, mainly very smart Spanish ladies.

Good choice. The ones on sale on the Costa are mainly from Morocco etc. They have not been cured, treated whatever. They are smelly and tough feeling. I am not keen on seeing elderly guys in leather, doesn't suit them. sorry. Cut off should be 60 at the most.

Not the jacket I bought in Nerja. Made by Torras who are Spanish and have been around for nearly 70 years. https://www.torras.com/en/brand/about-us-10

Not cheap, nearly €500 but worth it.

Yes Peter, that's the ones I was thinking of, lots in Fuengirola too. As Cid says you get what you pay for although have seen some decent womens' jackets for around 250 in Zara which were nice and supple.

The Massimo ones are nice. A lot of Nerja ones really smell quite strong as do Mijas ones.
