Punto Limpio

Postby Cadore33 » Mon Jan 07, 2019 5:08 pm

Stupid question but.....can you use any punto limpio? Ours is only open certain days and, with it being shut today for the holiday, could do with getting rid of some stuff sooner rather than later. Wondered if they were 'territorial' at all :?

Yup I know...but want to use one tomorrow morning, a bit further afield, as mine will not be open until Weds evening...just wanted to know if that was okay or whether there was a 'locals only' policy...different rules in the country we have come from, so checking whar's the norm here...

If you turn up in a private car, all should be well. Try not to do it in a van, or there could be a challenge about 'trade waste'.
And on old engine oil - if that affects you - a maximum 5L container size. 20L containers are not accepted.

I think it is sort of understood that you should use your local one, but we have never been asked for proof of address --- As TdA noted, there are special dumps for Trade Waste, so do not turn up at the wrong one - they are restricted for trade/construction etc only.

Thanks guys, appreciate your posts!
Just a private car with rubble from a (legally removed!) Internal wall that's in the way and I'm keen to move now rather than wait until tomorrow evening :)

My local punto limpio will not accept rubble (not even an broken ceramic flower pot). It has to be taken to a builders yard and put in a skip for which you have to pay. That's probably why there is a whole load of rubble dumped in the hedgerow by the side of the lane en route to the punto limpio. Luckily I have a friend who owns a builders yard and he doesn't charge me.

Yep - rubble could well be a problem as it is classed as inert-building/construction-debris ... can you not smash it up and use it, perhaps a new path, filling in potholes in the road?

Update:
Dropped the lot at Antequerra, great service from staff who helped unload. Accepted rubble, as does our village one, no problems :)

And no, Gasman, no place to use it as we have no land :(
