Tiler recommendations/costs
We are currently in the process of buying a place in Coin. Its in very good condition but we would like to re-tile the ground floor. The existing tiled floor is in good condition so the plan is to tile over tile. Can anyone recommend a good tiler in the Coin area and does anyone have any idea of the costs? I have heard various prices bantered around fro 20 euro an hour to a flat rate daily charge. Any info greatly appreciated.

Re: Tiler recommendations/costs
Round here the going rate is circa €20 per sq m. Be careful with tile on tile...you may need to trim bottoms of doors, skirting tiles etc. It really does not take long to whip off the existing ones with a kango.

Wouldn't recommend a flat daily rate as I did that once and they spun out the work. I was out one day and neighbour told me they had been sat on sun loungers for over an hour.

Rate per metre is safest.

I can't personally recommend a tiler however I'd recommend using a service provide site such as the equivalent of MyBuilder based in the UK - here you'll find individual tradesman who are most likely to give you the most competitive prices.

By the time you have paid his airfare and expenses he would prove a tad expensive....there is no equivalent to trade websites like that - in fact you will rarely find a tradesman with any certification.
Best and only way is by recommendation.

I wouldn't ask for the hourly rate or the daily flat rate, ask for a price for the whole job. That way you will have something to compare quotes with, every tradesmen works at a different speed and the hourly or daily rate is open to be abused.
