Avast warning - Program blocked

Postby Wicksey » Fri May 24, 2019 9:56 am

I keep getting a pop up window from Avast saying that it has prevented a program from starting up on my computer. It is C/program files (x86) Obit/ live update/liveupdate.exe

Don't know what it is and I am just updating my Avast program and will do a scan.

Hi Wicksey,
Sounds like you have downloaded some bloatware , IOBit has had reputation of tagging along with other software.

Have you any iOBit programs.........Advanced system care , Uninstaller......... :?:

I don't recommend using their programs............
UNIX is basically a simple operating system, but you have to be a genius to understand the simplicity.

I've looked through my programs I have (via the control panel) and I don't appear to have any Obit programs. The popup warning from Avast has disappeared now that I've done a scan.

I don't seem to have any of those Gerry. So far the popup warning hasn't reappeared again.
