In the twenty-first century the idea of the exclusively
gay hotel is fast becoming an anachronism. There are
still plenty of people who feel more comfortable in a BLGT - bi,
lesbian, gay, transgendered setting, although there are even
more who are finding a welcome in mixed accommodation.
Simple economics and the fall of Franco have made
things much easier for the BLGT traveller in Spain and in Andalucía
in particular. As the overwhelming support for same-sex marriages
in Spain has shown, post-Franco Spain has discovered a remarkable
tolerance. But as with nightlife, hotels are rarely gay-specific.
It can more or less be assumed that in this enlightened atmosphere
most decent hotels in Andalucía are gay friendly.
