Puerto Banús - Playas del Duque
Playas de Duque is a large urbanización or development located close to the seafront just to the west of Puerto Banús.
Playas del Duque consists of four Mediterranean-style blocks, making a total of 500 apartments. It has a seafront location with direct access to the seafront promenade and beach, and is also within easy walking distance to Puerto Banús. The development has 30,000 m2 of well-maintained communal gardens, 3 swimming pools, 2 private bars, gym and a wellness centre. In the summer there is also a restaurant with open terraces and shops. There is a 24-hour concierge service with security on site during the day.
It is bounded by Avenida Playas del Duque (pay parking zone) to the north and the spacious pedestrianized Avenida de Lola Flores to the west. It and has direct private access to the seafront promenade which at this point is divided from the beach by the Ocean Club Beach club.
A number of private villas remain here and some have taken advantage of the direct access to the seafront promenade to be converted into beach clubs. One such was the successful Buddha Beach which became the even more successful La Sala Beach club. There is some dispute of the issuing of licence for this use.
