2015 Starlite festival
The fourth edition of Starlite Festival took place from 18th July to 22nd August 2015 featuring 21 international and national artists. The inauguration was something different, the venue for the second edition of the ‘Premios Platino del Cine Iberoamericano', the principal event for the Spanish speaking cinema industry. The number of guests reached 150,000. Lenny Kravitz was the opening musical artist.
Placido Domingo returning to the quarry. He said, "I was the first to sing in this quarry. Long ago we discovered a split in the rock and we were in awe of its acoustics. There was nothing here, we had to climb up to a ledge - look, it has been converted into something so incredible, thanks to Starlight. It is a blessing." Julio Iglesias was on the bill for the fourth time, however he was forced to cancel at the last minute. The organisers published a letter from the artist in which he apologised to fans citing medical reasons and promising to return next year. However Julio Iglesias was absent from the 2016 line-up.
Starlite 2015 was the location of the final of Miss Universe Spain contest.
