THE HOTEL - A CONVERTED WATERMILL

Molino occupies a unique site as the grounds border onto a mountain stream which flows all year round. There are gardens to relax in next to the solar-heated swimming pool, fig trees and weeping willows for shade, and overlooking the stream, flower-filled terraces, which serve as outside dining areas from May to October. The air-conditioned bar and dining room are open to the public, and frequented by local Spanish people and foreign visitors alike.

Rooms with terraces at the Molino

Molino has just eighteen rooms which are comfortably furnished. Each room has its own en suite facilities. They are normally let as doubles or as twins but some are large enough for one or two extra beds, making them ideal for families. All rooms are equipped with their own tea and coffee-making facilities, mini-bar, air condition and central heating. Most rooms have their own terrace.

The main lounge has a log fireplace and features the workings of the original flour mill and a furze oven from its days as a bakery. Upstairs there is a library with a wide selection of fiction and reference books including a range of guides to the area and its flora and fauna. We also have language tapes and book so that you can improve your Spanish, and a variety of maps and information sheets to help you plan walking and excursions.

EATING AND DRINKING AT MOLINO

The food at Molino has earned the hotel much praise. The cooking is Spanish specialising in local and regional dishes planned with the help of Reme and Andres our cooks, who live in Benaoján. Our menu varies according to the availability of the local markets and the season, but always offers a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. We are happy to cater as far as possible for special diets, and we also have a children's menu. Afternoon tea and delicious home made cakes are available on the terrace each day.

Every day the Molino bar is open from early to late, offering soft and alcoholic drinks, coffee, ice-creams, salads and snacks. We stock a good range of authentic Andalucían sherries as well as a wide variety of wines and spirits.
