Getting to Molino

Map of Andalucia

Although it is well off the beaten tourist track, Molino is easy to find. We will be happy to supply more detailed information on any of the following means of transport to the hotel.

FLYING AND TRANSFER: The most convenient airports, each less than two hours driving time from Molino, are Málaga, Seville, Jerez and Gibraltar. From each of these airport, a range of transfer possibilities exists:

Hire Car - We can arrange for a hire car to meet you at the airport and provide directions for finding your way to Benaoján. See below for more details about hiring cars.

Train- Local trains serve Benaoján and Ronda from Málaga and San Roque (for Gibraltar). Timetables are available on request. We will provide transport from the station to the hotel if you let us know your arrival time.

Taxi- We can arrange for a local taxi driver to meet you at any Spanish airport. Fares are approximately 95 euros single if a Benaoján driver is used. Airport taxis can be considerably more expensive. At Gibraltar, the taxi rank is just across the border in La Linea.

OTHER ARRANGEMENTS

Rail Travel-The rail journey from the UK to Benaoján takes over 30 hours. We can provide more information if required.

Driving - Some people arrive at Molino having taken ferries to French ports or to Bilbao or Santander on the northern Spanish coast and continuing their journey by car, or by the direct motor - rail service from Bilbao to Málaga. Journey times are decreasing each year as Spanish communication networks improve.

GETTING ABOUT FROM MOLINO

CAR HIRE - Andalucía is an ideal area in which to hire a car as there are many kilometres of quiet country roads to explore and the hire rates from Málaga and Gibraltar are very reasonable. As a guide, a small two-door car costs about 110 pounds per week fully inclusive. The only extra is petrol Car hire from Sevilla and Jerez is not as economic. If you prefer to hire a car for only part of your stay, this can be done in Ronda, but it is more expensive pre - booking is essential.

Michelin map 446 (Andalucia) is the most useful and reliable map for the area, available from all good bookshops.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT - There are four stopping trains a day in each direction from Benaoján and a daily bus from the village to Ronda and back, Buses serve Ronda from the coast and Sevilla. There is a limited number of places which are easy to reach from Benaoján in a day without your own transport.
