Amapola
 Amapola
is a very pretty, beautifully appointed house in the ‘white
village’ of El Gastor in the Andalucian province of Cadiz.
The house sits just below the vast pinewood along with other pretty
whitewashed houses.
There is a maze of fascinating streets in El Gastor
each leading onto yet another beautiful setting. The main plaza
is very lovely,
flanked by the old church, the town hall and a collection of other
old buildings. Restaurants and bars add to the charm of the place.
El Gastor has retained it’s truly Spanish character and has
not been affected by tourism.
There are many shops in the village and there is also an open air
Olympic size public swimming pool along with a new sports centre
(which is due for completion in 2004) for those of a more energetic
persuasion. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking and is a walkers
or birdwatchers paradise.
Amapola has three bedrooms, two with a double bed and the other
with a single bed. The main bathroom is situated on the first floor
with the bedrooms and a second toilet/washroom is on the ground floor.
  
The ground floor comprises of an open-plan area combining the dining
room and sitting room with a marble staircase off to the first floor.
There is also a separate, fully fitted, kitchen with the usual equipment
and a tiny internal patio, which gives the feeling of light and airiness.
The property has very recently been totally renovated and refurbished
to a very high standard incorporating beautiful ceramic tiling and
attractive woodwork. Above the house, at rooftop level, there is
a wonderful small terrace where one can sit and take in the fantastic
views of the village and surrounding countryside.
 Car parking is easy and very close to the house. Electric heating,
if required, is available for those taking holidays in the early
or late part of the year.
For the comfort and safety of all, we request that guests do not
smoke inside the property.
The property can comfortably accommodate 4 people. Linen, towels
(but not swimming towels) and a weekly cleaning service are provided.
