Monte de la Torre

Main entrance - front of the house

Overlooking the Bay of Gibraltar, in Andalucía, is a private country property belonging to the Larios family. The fine Edwardian house is set in large mature gardens and surrounded by its own 400 hectares (1000 acres) of natural cork oak forest and grazing for Retinto, the long-horned red cattle of southern Spain. Storks nest in the gardens and the area is famous for wild spring flowers and the bird migrations to and from Africa.

The owners have farmed and managed the estate for over 20 years and the Larios family have owned this beautiful cork forest since the early 19th century. Their interests include natural and local history, which they are delighted to share.
