Airport Info

Seville Airport dates from 1914 when a permanent aerodrome was established on land used for an air show and for the first flight between Europe and Africa. The present terminal was opened in 1989. The architect Rafael Moneo designed the with three traditional components of Seville culture in mind: the mosque (vaulted arch concourse) , the palace (expansive blue tiled concourse) and the orange trees (in the airport grounds). In 2004 2.7 million passenger movements were recorded and increasing at a rate of about 15% per year. (Although 1992 recorded nearly 3 million).

Location & Communications

Seville airport is located about 10 Kilometres north east of the city, on the A4 (was NIV) motorway to Cordoba and Madrid at km 533.

There is a half hourly bus service from 06.15 to 23.00 to the Santa Justa railway station in the centre of the city. The cost of a single ticket is 2.30 Euro. The route is Puerta de Jerez and there are stops in streets Palos de la Frontera, Pedro de Castro, Enramadilla, avenida San Francisco Javier, Luis de Morales y Avenida Kansas City (next to Santa Justa station). The bus EA runs a regular service to and from the city and the main railway station. There are plenty of taxis outside the terminal building the fair to the city centre is about 20 Euro. There are also a number of leading car hire companies based at the airport.

Car Parking for 2000 cars is found directly opposite the terminal is 1,30 Euro an hour and 13,95 per day (reduced to 11,10 per day after five days). There are no long term car parks or privately run off site parking facilities.

Facilities

Seville Airport has a single runway, the 09-27 (3,360 by 45 metres) and a parallel taxiway. The hourly capacity is 28 movements. The apron has a capacity for 23 aircraft.
