Alvia
 (250km/h)

Alvia is the name of high-speed services (though not as fast as the AVE) which connect the major cities of Andalucia with the Spanish capital, Madrid.  The trains are made up from the RENFE Class 130 units. The Cadiz and Huelva to Madrid routes, use AVE track as far as Seville, offering passengers a more comfortable journey and shorter travelling times.

Altaria  (160-200km/h)

Altaria is the name of high-speed services or Talgo are high-speed services (though not as fast as the AVE or Alvia) which Algeciras and Granada with the Spanish capital, Madrid.  The trains are made up from a RENFE locomotive pulling Talgo passenger carriages. (Talgo Class IV, VI, VII.)

 

Madrid-Algeciras
Time taken: 5hrs 15 mins
Freguency: 2 trains daily
Stops: Madrid, Cuidad Real, Puertollano, Cordoba, Antequera-Santa Ana, Ronda, San RoqueAlgeciras.

 

Madrid-Granada
Time taken: 4hr 35 mins
Frequency: 6 trains daily.
This service is currently suspended and Granada station is closed to trains due to construction of the AVE line from Antequera to Granada. Passenger who book a ticket to Granada, will take the AVE from Madrid to Antequera-Santa Ana, and then change for a special bus service to Granada. The journey total time is about 4hrs. this is expected to continue until end of 2015.


Talgo  

Talgo is the name of high-speed services (though not as fast as the AVE or Alvia or Altaria) which connects Granada Spanish capital, Madrid. The trains are made up from a RENFE locomotive pulling Talgo passenger carriages. Talgo Class IV, VI, VII.)

 

Madrid-Almeria 
Time taken: 6hrs 20 mins
Freguency: 2 trains daily
Stops: Madrid, Alcazar de San Juan, Manzanares, Valdepeñas, Vilches, Linares-Baeza, Jodar, Ubeda, Cabra de Santo Cristo y Alicun, Moreda. Guadix, Finana, Gador, Almeria.

AVANT

Avant trains are fast (250km/h) medium-distance trains which run on the AVE track. In Andalucia, they circulate between Seville, Córdoba and Málaga and in 2016 Granada.  Regional stopping medium distance trains (MD) also serve these cities on the older iberian guage lines.
