Re: Buying a van to move furniture to Spain

Tbh imo in the long run it will be less hassle to pay to have your things brought down. Depending on the cost of a van and the cost of removals it might not be that much different and alot less hassle trying to get rid of the van afterwards

Re: Transferring money to Spain/Gran Canaria

I wouldnt put 500,000 k in any bank. What if it goes bust. You are only covered for 100k . They might want to know where its come from. If its overseas property you might have a capital gains issue depending on when you became resident. Cant see there been an income tax issue as its basically saving...

Re: DELPASO Car Hire – A cautionary tale.

Firefly are owned by hertz. Family members and friends who have been coming to spain for decades wont use anyone but carlos lopez at orion car hire at the airport. He was previously navarro. Does a meet and greet service. No hassle with the insurance. Straight in and out. They swear by him.

Re: Permanent residence

I presume it stays the same. If you have an S1 you can produce that at a drs in the U.K and get treated as a uk resident.

How did you find the process for changing irene. Did they ask for anythig different or was it straight forward
