Re: Coronavirus

Do they have living wills in spain. Like olive says unless you want to do the deed while still healthy its to late once you have had a stroke and stuck in a veggie like state to do anything

Re: Retirement age Spain

The problem being that many younger and older ppl cant afford to save anything from their wage. Many work long hours and two jobs yet still have vertually nothing left at the end of month after all the bills have been paid. They cant think about putting money into private pensions etc when they are ...

Re: Gibraltar

Went over yesterday. Not a single car infront of me at 10am. Straight through! That will probably never happen again. No mask wearing or social distancing in effect. Some shop staff wearing masks but thats of no use if no one else is. Morrisons the same. No different to normal except you had to ring...

Re: Retirement age Spain

The "working class" youngsters of today dont have the same mentality, with all the b*llsh*t degrees on offer that never amount to anything. ------------ Very true. The problem been the obsession with everyone going to uni to the point of an A level pass only requiring 20% and those who dont go been ...

Re: Coronavirus

to return to the discussion re old people in care homes: seems to me that those who wish to have an end to their lives should be able to do so (with legal/family assistance if necessary) but to label/stereotype such persons as 'Most are in care homes for a reason such as dementia. Not just memory l...

Re: Coronavirus

Read that they found it in barca waste in january this year but last year is new info. A legit source? Wouldnt be surpised if it was dormant or around for along time before as, for the huge majority it is nothing more than a flu like illness so who would have known they had had "covid" before it was...

Re: Coronavirus

I agree with your comments Katy. The biased news was always on about the incompetence of the Uk government in not providing PPE for care homes, but they are private companies and taking an awful lot of money per week for each client. My FIL recently had to have some respite care in a private nursin...

Re: Coronavirus

I used the word callous earlier. A relative “lived “ in a care home for 12 years with motor neurone disease. She was an ex nurse and begged her daughter to end her life as she knew what she was going to have to live through. Food for thought or in her case food through a pipe in her stomach for year...

No Gerry. You get them from the uk as your healthcare is paid for by the uk via the S1.

You only get them from spain if your work here.

Re: T.I.E

Agree especially here. There has been warnings that the new card will be dated when you applied and will over ride your original arrival date. Cant really see that tbh as its all documented when you first came. Alot of support/offical groups etc are saying if you have the green card then dont bother...

Re: T.I.E

Yeah i guess so wicksey due to having a photo. But i believe for ppl applying from next year from scratch you have to reapply every couple of years of so and the money you have to show goes up. Presuming theres no change from the standard third country rules

Re: T.I.E

Applying from scratch? Upto the end of the year you apply as an EU resident so as now. Once into 2021 you apply as a third country national. So alot harder. Requiring alot of income. Around 26k single 30k as a couple. If you already have it the last i read was that if you have a residents card with ...

Just reading on C.A.B that applications can be made this month for the TIE at the usual national police station. Not a legal requirement to exchange if you have you green residency card already. If you are a permanant resident your TIE will last ten years and non perm 5 years.
