Re: live Channel 4 on NOW TV and Fire Stick

I've had Firestick's since they first came out but don't know much about them. I have noticed though that the storage is being used up fairly quickly. Does sideloading an app (whatever that is) save on space?

SIM Card Internet

I have a local village guy supplying our internet via a little dish thing outside connected to a double aerial modem inside but not great. In our street movistar can't supply internet down a cable and last time i used them for a year or so, i had an extortionate fee for a 3G plug in modem which had ...

Re: T.I.E

You need to see a tax advisor ASAP. If you are here permanently from next year it means that you will be tax resident from January 1st 2021. The tax system here is completely different from both the UK and Ireland. What that means is practically you will be taxed in very different way from what you...

Re: T.I.E

Yeah good points. Also if you drive with a uk licence make sure you have registered to change it before the end of the year or at present you will have to take a spanish driving test. Thanks elusive, that is in hand, i sent all relevant paperwork including the medical to a company that deals with t...

Re: T.I.E

It would seem an extreme measure to get full residencia here if you're only intending to be here for a long holiday of 5 months which won't meet residency rules. Unless Jogger you are going to stay here longer term? I've read a lot of newspaper articles about the fact that after 31 Dec non-resident...

No she doesn't fin, she would of had to live there for two years to qualify. Something she wasn't prepared to do, to wet she said :)

Re: T.I.E

jogger - you must be aware that you will have to change your routine if you are resident? You will have to spend at least 183 days a year in Spain to maintain your residency, and of course change to declaring all your income when you do your resident's tax return in 2022 for the year 2021. Yes Pete...

Re: T.I.E

I got my residencia (green card, Irish) in October, we arrived here for the first time this year on September 1st due to the pandemic, normally we do 5 months here each year since 2017. My wife is waiting for her TIE card, she's done the fingerprint thing already, how long does it usually take betwe...

Re: Private health insurance

If you are on the Padron for a year some places will let you buy into the health service via the convenio. It's on the Brits Embassy website. Some areas do but some don't. With that health conditions are irrelevant when signing up for it. Might be worth checking out.

Do you know, are the requirements the same for the TIE as it was for the residencia green card?

Re: Car Road Tax

I set up my DD for the car tax last year, as I'm not always in Spain when it's due but it hasn't come out of the bank yet and now I'm wondering if I set it up correctly. Has anybody else not had their DD taken for the road tax?

Convenio Especial

So it looks like the Convenio Especial is back on and according to this report it can be used to apply for residencia. It clearly states saying, ideal for people who have found it difficult to get private healthcare because of ongoing conditions. You need to prove you have lived here for a year whic...

An advantage of signing on is you can have a vote in the election to elect your mayor and council, after all you're paying for the services as well and should be entitled to have a say.

Re: Having a car to use in UK

It might be worth phoning a company like A Plan insurance who are brokers but very good and they can tailor your quote. I have a car in Spain for the very same reasons as you need a car here. I used a broker in Spain and ended up with Liberty insurance.

Re: Just bought a villa, now I need the internet

We ended our contract with Movistar and they still took money from our bank, after the contract had ended, not good customer service in my book.
