Re: Donating your body to medical science

Organ donation is only possible if the death occurs in hospital as everything starts to deteriorate once the heart stops, unless there is some form of life support. Only around 2% of deaths of willing organ donors are actually suitable, so it seems a lot of fuss for little possibility. The law in Sp...

Re: Donating your body to medical science

If you have loved ones you might want to consider the affect on them, in the time of maximum grief and shock having to see you disappear - within a very very short time of death. Having seen the way medical students show no respect for the cadavers they worked on would also put me off.

I don’t find Michael O’Leary a very likeable man, but he has been saying exactly the same thing for a couple of days.

Re: Coronavirus

It seems to me that a substantial minority - if not the majority - of people have taken little notice of what the rules are, so fine tuning is just polititcal posturing. Some here are flapping and twitching about allowing anyone in from anywhere, when the risks will be very low - would anyone having...

Re: ITV rules re tyres

And the down side of a hybrid is the horrendous cost of batteries should they need replacing. Paying more for an annual service to get fifteen years cover is worth it.

I am not going to make a hazardous trip into town to fill in the book. I have told them they have made €300 and lost a customer, for service and new car.

Re: ITV rules re tyres

Be aware, be very aware. Many businesses have suffered because of the lockdown but be aware that some may try to make up the defecit by sharp practice and deception. I had my car serviced at Labasa Toyota in Cartagena, prior to its first ITV @ 4 years old. The service reception rang me an hour into ...

Re: Costa del Narcos - TV heads up

I have never believed that it would be difficult to develop a plant virus that wiped out the plants that this stuff comes from, or even for a major force to napalm the growing fields. The problem would be that too many of the ruling elite would object to losing their little friend Charlie, and that ...

If everyone in Spain stopped buying Chinese stuff it would be like an ant biting a wooly Mammoth. It is the massive projects like power stations and mobile phone networks that bring the money in to that evil government. I doubt if one cent of the money that goes into Mr Wings restaurant of Mrs Whoos...

Re: Coronavirus

My common sense tells me that me wearing a mask does nothing for me, but if the lawmakers say everyone must wear one that leaves unable to do very much. I am unabled by COPD but a mask makes me disabled.

Re: Coronavirus

Although nothing like it was in Franco’s day the Spanish press can be selective about what they choose to print. Just like “it was in the Daily Blob so it must be true” it could be “it is not in the Daily Blob so it can’t have happened”.

Re: Coronavirus

I wonder if I can get an official exemption from a mask, as my COPD makes walking bad enough without having a piece of cloth half blocking my mouth - a bit like some in the UK are excused car seatbelts for medical reasons?
