Re: T.I.E

I would assume you put the same address as is on your green card/form?

Re: T.I.E

Definitely pay at the bank - be aware that some banks restrict the hours you can make such a payment, probably to stop all these small payments filling a big queue.

Re: Coronavirus

If you do not see the risks of bridge you cannot be a card player....usually clubs play 27 hands in a session, so the cards are predealt into carriers that pass from table to table. Players take the cards out of their pocket on the carrier, manually count them, sort them into suits and value. They t...

Re: Coronavirus

Keep an eye out for a spike around Nerja - I have just read that two of the bridge clubs have been playing, despite all the risks inherent in sitting 4 to a table, handling playing cards, bidding cards, and being in closed rooms. Nerja Bridge Club restarted on the 3rd July (!) and Trumps on the 3rd ...

Re: Coronavirus

It is looking more and more that the wisest ones are those who decided this was not the year to go anywhere...and I exclude ourselves from the wise, as we are in Yorkshire, wondering if we will ever get back! The weather is more tolerable but adherence to guidelines patchy at best - we felt safer in...

Re: Travel to the UK

Different system - not saved to computer so you can download and print out the form, then fill it in with a black pen. Roughly same details required - where you can be found while you are there.

Re: Travel to the UK

It must be completed online, and cannot be done until 48 hours before your arrival in the UK. You can print the form to show to border control, or download to your smartphone. There must be one form per person but under 18s travelling with you do not need one. Although awkward because of the time el...

Re: Travel to the UK

“ Go in to the local empty shop for your pint of milk and you'll have to wear it or you'll be £100 lighter.” Not yet anyway - masks are here and there, maybe 10% wearing them, none of the shop staff in M&S Knaresborough, only the one on the till at TKMaxx...coming from controlling Spain to dithering...

Re: Travel to the UK

The whole process is unnecessarily complicated IMHO. There is no suggestion as to what they want you to put in the box where you explain why you do not need to self-isolate, and the lengthy list of categories of people who are permitted is ridiculous. Typical Civil Service rubbish.

Re: Online shopping in the Covid world

Before Covid there was a lot of shouting about Amazon building a massive unit at the almost white elephant RMU (Corvera) airport.

Re: Travel form to Spain

Maybe this is why there is this 48-hour window, so you can get to your crossing point and fill in ticket number, method of travel (across the channel) and arrival time in UK when you know it. The key things are knowing where you will be and how to contact you if they need to.

Re: Travel form to Spain

Note that if you go in the other direction the form is different - can only be filled in and submitted online, and only within 48 hours of arrival in UK. Sounds a bit tricky if driving. You can do it and save it on a smartphone but allow time for doing so.

Re: T.I.E

It seems that a few people are putting themselves to a lot of trouble to get something that is not needed, and which if the takeup for is low will get offered for free at some point. No one is ever going to get kicked out of Spain with permanent residence status for not having the latest form of ID.

Re: Travel to the UK

It is beyond me why thet don't let you fill the whole thing in and submit it once you have passed the 48 hours to go mark. As I say, there are 3 pages of it. One point - if you are doing more than your own form you must close the browser before trying to complete another one. At least it accepts the...

Travel to the UK

Just to say that if you are travelling to the UK it is well worth filling in the passenger location form before you leave the comfort of your home, computer and printer. It has just taken me about 20 minutes per form to complete, and the idea of trying to do this on board or even at UK Border Contro...
