Re: Dog walking during the lockdown

In all of this there is a mix of laws, rules and advice. You read things like "you must only shop once a week, in your nearest supermarket" which I cannot find in the law.

Re: Repair Shops Closed

But just like the translation I quoted, the actual wording cannot be found in the BOE of Sunday. There are bound to be anomalies- like the fact that shops selling newspapers are permitted to open, but going to buy a paper is not listed as a valid reason to go out! Unless I have missed it there is al...

Re: Coronavirus

Assuming they did not exceed the 183 days in 2019 the clock would have started ticking again 1st January, so they have until July 2nd to get out (and stay out) of Spain before the taxman would be interested.

Re: Repair Shops Closed

HOLD IT! I have been through the BOE and cannot find the “garage” entry. It looks possible that the usually very reliable translations provided by the N332 police may have mixed up the latest version? It dies not help that the BOE number seems to stay the same, but revisions are only identified by d...

Our mayor says 50 metres, but this is in a town environment.

Re: Coronavirus

Sadly the loudest noise has been traffic on the autovias with cars carrying those still ignoring the law and fleeing the big cities for their country homes.

Re: Dog walking during the lockdown

Like us humans, dogs must do without outdoor exercise. They are allowed out for "physiological reasons, within 50 metres from the home" - in other words they can *beep* a leg and [email protected] You must carry poobags and some water to rinse off urine deposits.

Re: Repair Shops Closed

"Car Garages for Repairs" are specifically allowed to trade. They must adopt safeguarding, and work with the doors closed. Try your insurance company for a grua?

Seems like this thread has passed its use-by date. All rescue flights now stopped - one less thing to worry about!

Re: Coronavirus

At 832 deaths in one day, and these only attributable to Covid19 if the victim had been previously tested and confirmed, I cannot see there has been any exaggeration of the severity. Unlike the lies about weapons of mass destruction these figures are confirmed from different districts using various ...

Re: Coronavirus

There are too many people making up or spreading conspiracy theories and false news. Surely the only thing that matters is stopping the spread of this deadly virus, not who/how/when/what caused it!

Re: Driving restrictions

I would ring the vet. They will advise on the law and how it is being applied locally. Given that you will be only going out for dog walking within 50 metres of your home, the risks of infection are reduced from normal.

Re: Coronavirus

Forgive me for being cynical: if there had not been the austerity programme there would have been far less money available to alleviate this crisis - "a rainy day"? How many of the volunteers for the NHS are simply after a badge that will get them in the privileged queue at the supermarket...

Re: Going To Airport

Make sure you have a print-out of their boarding cards - and keep if to produce if there is a random check on your way home. Up here (first to lock down) they seem to be over zealous, even insisting on one person in a taxi (with mask, seated in the rear not shotgun).

Re: UK State Pension

When we moved over in 2005 the rate was 1.40, but we based our budget to see if we should move at parity - sadly a forecast that came true a few years after. Then again we went for Spanish lessons for 2 years before we moved...
