Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in Andalucia

I have a friend who suffers from COPD and carries around a portable Oxygen generator and has great difficult breathing. I had lunch with him today and asked if he had any problems breathing with a mask, with or without his Oxygen supply. He said he was fine wearing a mask.

Re: Online shopping in the Covid world

I have bought large white goods online. Fridge freezers, ovens and dishwashers. I have no desire to look at a dishwasher before I buy one. There are loads of online review sites that take them apart and suggest the best buys. The real advantage of online shopping is that if you don’t like it you can...

Online shopping in the Covid world

I have read news reports about the huge increase in online shopping during the pandemic. Not just food (which since Mercadona closed their online site until last week) but all the other online options, particularly Amazon, eBay and the like. What experiences have forum members had with this. Have th...

Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in AndaluciaTrong opinions on this but the situation

Please, let’s not get personal over this issue. It is clear to me that there are some very strong opinions over this issue, but please remember that the UK issues over shops and masks is entirely different from the Andalucia issue of masks all the time. Can we stick to the issues in Andalucia rather...

Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in Andalucia

The UK didn’t enforce them at the start because they were trying to discourage people from buying them with the excuse that it would reduce the avalabity of masks for the NHS, in fact due only because of their failure to plan ahead and have adequate supplies. Now that you can buy then in packs of 10...

Re: When you bought your campo house... was it registered? ie, did you get a mortgage?

I doubt that a bank would give a mortgage on a house that is not on the register. It would have to be registered so that the register would have details of the mortgage. Of course, being on the register does not prove it is legal. It may have been modified or extended without registering the changes...

Re: Pool inverter heater

I’m not surprised. The so called salt pools require you to run the pump to generate enough chlorine. I guess you just tailor the pump time to get the temperature you want. The cost of running the pump will be far less that the electricity used by the heater.

Re: masks mandatory

Sid/Beach, As my post on this subject was started 1st do you think to avoid confusion the other should be closed. You are right, we don't need two threads on the same subject. Yes, yours was started first, but the other one has far more replies, so sorry, but I am going to close your thread. Sid

Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in Andalucia

I have always argued that we have been misled by the UK experts who originally said that masks were only effective at protecting other people from your germs. So, how do they explain the fact that all the front line NHS staff have to wear better quality FFP2/3 masks when working very close to the Co...

Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in Andalucia

I am glad you are so confident that it has gone away and that we don’t need to take simple precautions to avoid further outbreaks, of which there have been a worrying number in the las few weeks, including Almería. https://english.elpais.com/society/2020-07-09/spain-records-257-new-coronavirus-cases...

Re: When you bought your campo house... was it registered? ie, did you get a mortgage?

You may have a mortgage offer, but banks are notorious for giving very low valuations on campo houses so you might end up with a very big deposit.

Did you actually read the article? Nowhere does it say that you don't pay tax in Spain, just that it will be less.

Re: Pool inverter heater

Well that’s probably not a huge increase on what you would get without it. Maybe a cheaper lower powered unit could do that. The supplier should be able to advise you on that. Many people with pool heaters expect all year round heating.

Re: Pool inverter heater

The price depends on the output. If you fit the full recommended unit it may well look expensive.. if you fit a smaller one it will save money but won’t get quite as hot. They are not cheap generally but I imagine installation is complicated. Having installed one a solar bubble cover is essential to...

Are you sure about that Peter? I thought it was only pensioners in receipt of an S1 form that could get UK NHS treatment whenever they like without having to take up residence in the UK.
