Re: Spanish postal service

I just checked my package on the RM site. It says the same as the Correos site, ie left Spain 2 weeks ago - no further info.

Re: Spanish postal service

All the cards we have posted have always, so far, reached their destination. Cheers Gerry Good for you Gerry. I sent my passport back to the UK to get a new one. It was sent Certificado. That was 3 weeks ago. No sign of it being delivered yet and all the Correos tracking site says is that it is on ...

Re: Movistar Fusion 300mb/s

They are via poles until they get to the plot, then they go underground via the conduits that were fitted to take the original copper cables. In the town they are underground to a local box in the street.

Re: Movistar Fusion 300mb/s

By fibre cable direct to the router. Pretty impressive since we live in the Campo about 2km from the town. I could have 1gb for an extra €7 but I really don't need it.

Re: Movistar Fusion 300mb/s

No, but I have just found the correct part of the Movistar site and you have to request the upgrade. The site has apparently had a lot of problems which is presumably why I could not find the upgrade request previously. I have now checked the speed (only 2 minutes after I requested to upgrade and it...

Movistar Fusion 300mb/s

On Tuesday, Movistar were supposed to upgrade all existing Fusion 100 users to 300mb/s at the same time that they increased the price from €53 to €55.

Mine is still running at 100mb/s. Has anyone been upgraded or do you have to contact them to get the upgrade?

Re: UPS back up protection

For my TV and audio system I use a big Salicru with 2 batteries. It will keep it all running for some time, but if the power goes, which is usually for a short time, I turn the TV off as that takes most of the power. I have a small UPS for the router and telephone and another small one on my Windows...

Re: Municipal confinement?

You are probably right, but provincial border lockdown is almost certain. Provincial border lockdown is relatively easy to police but municipal borders are almost impossible to control.

Re: Electrical problem

It’s not an overload, that would not trip the RCD. it’s usually damp. A short circuit would trip the main fuse. An overload would trip the potencia (ICD) trip. We had a lot of trouble with the RCD tripping caused by a problem on the electrical circuits in the flower beds for lighting. A lot of rewir...

Re: Don't bring meat sandwiches into Spain

It’s worth remembering that one of causes of the Foot and Mouth Disease epidemic in 2001 was attributed to “Infected meat or meat products imported as personal imports”.

Re: Shingles

If you get the drug follow the instructions very carefully as it is very important. Herpes lives with you all the time and sometimes flares up. Cold sores are a good example. It’s usually when your immune system is a bit low. I can’t comment on the vaccines. I had it around my face but not affecting...

Re: Shingles

As I said, the anti- viral drug has to be taken within 5 days of the shingles appearing, so get to the doctor ASAP. Where is the rash? If it’s anywhere near the face/head it will be much worse.

There few drugs apart from painkillers, but if you take Aciclovir within 5 days of it starting that will minimise the symptoms.

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain

Testing isn't useless, its just not 100% effective for the reasons you gave. It's better than nothing.

It's a bit like the MOT/ITV. Tested OK - brakes fail on the way home - 5 killed! I don't think anyone would suggest vehicle testing is useless.

Re: CAR ITV - Whats going on??

I got mine on the website with no problems. I did not ask for a date, it automatically gave me the date based on the date of matriculation. This will be its first test.

You should be able to stream with 4G in Spain quite adequately. I get over 150mb/s on most 4G connections.
