I would complain the American parent company "Home Away."
Home Away bought Owners Direct five years ago.

Re: currency
The Moroccan dirham is a closed currency and the banks in Spàin told me they couldn´t get it. Be careful that you are not looking at other dirhams such as UAE etc. which happened to a friend of mine who ordered dirhams for the wrong country from her bank! :( It would be good to know if detourer know...

Re: currency
Just a suggestion; make sure you take take euros/pounds in small notes/coins.
You can then buy something small like a bottle of water with a small note. You always get dirhams back in change for other purchases.

Re: Camino de Santiago de Compostela
There is also an English route (Ruta de los Ingleses) which is the shortest, about 20 miles only. It runs from La Coruña on the coast where ship from England bringing pilgrims would dock. I know because some research into my ancestors revealed one in the 16th century who operated a ship purely to br...

Re: HOTEL IN MADRID
We usually go to the Rex or Emperador in Gran Via. Next to metro station (Callao) and a very short walk from Plaza de España and Sol. Three star hotels but clean and very well located. If you´re arriving by train or plane, get a hotel close to the metro and then buy a 1/2/3 day tourist go as you ple...

Trying to be more positive...is there anyway the girlfriend could get a computer based job in the UK first and then transfer to Spain? One where she could work from home?

Re: morocco
Malaga to Tarifa would involve a change of bus in Algeciras unless you took a tour. You could tho take a coach direct from Malaga to Algeciras and catch the ferry from there rather than from Tarifa. Personally I would look at going further afield than Tangiers. Drive to Seville and catch a flight ( ...

Re: cruise from Gibraltar
Have you thought of the weekly river cruise from Seville to Cádiz and back? Not the Med I know but worth considering. The prob with catching the cruise at Gib is that you finish somewhere else and have to find travel home. A start and finish in the same place makes a world of difference. http://www....

Not all Ryanair flights to/from Spain have been cancelled. Much depends on whether it has a national competitor to take precedence for that particular route.Jool wrote:All internal and external Ryanair flights to and from Spain for tomorrow are cancelled.

I just booked a return flight with Ryanscare, Malaga - Pisa for a couple of nights next month  Looks like you just got in in time. The flight seems to have been cancelled for November onwards. I think their Seville to Fez or Marrakesh offer for 10 pounds return (incl. taxes but not the adm...

One lady we met never left the ship in 3 months. She had set herself targets ... to learn Spanish from her CDs, to get to a certain level in a computer game she had brought with her, to read War and Peace etc. etc. and loved every minute of it.

Re: CRUISES
The ship makes money from its excursions so usually docks for the full day, usually from early morning to early evening. If it´s a major city or a "must see" you stay overnight so have two full days. 200 grand is a silly figure to quote...an outside cabin with balcony for the 103 day world...

Re: CRUISES
Long RTW cruises tend to start later in the year e.g. October thru to January or Jan thru to April which leaves the summer available for them to operate shorter cruises. I´ve never seen one that includes all drinks as they make the money on the bar bills and it would make the cruise more expensive f...

Do you mean Castellar de la Frontera? Castle Eve, the first weekend in August?
August 6th. celebrates San Salvador their patron saint. It´s just all round the castle in the open air.
The main Flamenco festival there though is in July.

For train travel, the tarjeta dorada is for anyone over 60.
There is also the pensionista card for residents over 65.
The two cards are different.
