If you go to Rhonda, have a look at Teba on the way with it's memorial to Black Douglas(do a bit of research first) and the castle.

Vaccine in the UK is around £150 for the course.
Will be getting Cassie, my cocker, done before I return. I lost Willow, another cocker to this awfull thing, and yes she had to have several blood tests before the vet could be sure. The tests had to go to Madrid and in all it cost more than 500 euros.

Re: Household removals Andalusia - UK

Came back to UK to look after my dad, now gone. I had to go out, so told him a bloke called Jimbo The Scot may ring as he was bringing some stuff for me. I reminded my dad "remember, Jimbo the Scott, you got it Jimbo the Scot" As I was closing the door my dad asked "Is he Spanish?" He had all his fa...

Re: Leish and progress in UK

I lost one of my cockers to this terrible disease a few years back. I researched a bit and IIRC there are 12,000,000 people infected in 80 different countries! Also IIRC Ben Fogle got it. :(

Re: Campo Fire Dates

When it is dry it is very dry. I went to town one day and some clown had thrown a cig out of a car and set fire to the cana. Thank God that the guy,who lived away was there next door at the time. I helped him to put out the fire for a couple of hours, but if he had not been there the lot, and the ho...

Re: Campo Fire Dates

The licence is free. You may get away with out one, but because I have quite a bit of land and a lot onf bamboo I want to be legal. As most things here just follow the law. You meet a lot of nice farmers that want to help you as they then know you love the land and produce. Put your ideas in, they s...

Human urine!
I have posted before that we used to pee around partidge nests to deter the fox. However they are very smart and eventually associate the smell with food.

Re: Campo Fire Dates

I agree. I had to go to the town hall, they have dates for you to get a licence posted on the wall. I had to be there at 9am on a certain day and waited with the farmers. After going through my paper work, in Spanish by two environmental officers I was issued with a licence. It ran from 9th nov to 14...

Re: What is eating my onions?

Sorry if I offended anyone I did not mean to. I just want to give information. Beside urine being a deterrent it is also a very good to prevent fungi growth. Any tree feller will tell you that it prevents the spread of honey fungus on cut conifers, and also good for athletes foot.

We used to pee around partridge nests to deter the fox. Worked for a while, then the fox associated the smell with food! so we stopped. Think the fox is more sly than a vole though. :)

I have some of the old glass fly traps, you can get plastic ones. Most people I know use small plastic water bottles with a mixture of-1kg sugar-1Ltr vinegar and 5 ltr of water, and hang it in the trees. You also need to commit to chemical warfare, especially if you have olives and your neighbours d...
