Re: Spanish Water Dog

Hello

Thanks for your replies.

I will try the crate training. Thanks for the idea. She managed to scale our patio wall today (it's very high but these dogs are very agile). I will post a photo tomorrow. We're in Marbella.

Spanish Water Dog

Though it pains me (and the kids even more) to be writing this, we have come to a stage where we can't manage to keep our dog and we're looking for a new home for her. She is a Spanish Water Dog (with papers), chocolate and white, four years old. She is exceptionally intelligent. She has always live...

Rugby

Hello

Does anyone know of a place to watch the Rugby in Iznajar/Antequera/Cordoba province?

I know it's on Canal Plus but apparently Spain are playing at the same time so there's no chance of getting to watch it in a local bar.

Cheers

Heston, we're near Lucena and yes, I speak fluent Spanish. I've already imported one car but just cannot face the paperwork again, hence the need for a gestor. Will travel if you know a gestor in Cordoba who's NOT near Lucena.

Cheers,

Gestor in Cordoba

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good gestor for changing UK car to Spanish plates. We have gestors locally but there are so few ex-pats around here that they are unlikely to be familiar with the process.

Anyone used a good gestor? Has to be Cordoba province.

Thanks,

Kelly

Dido You might want to consider taking a TEFL (english as a foreign language) qualification in you're moving inland. The demand for english teachers is higher inland because of the relative lack of ex-pats but you may have to consider moving a little further inland than Antequera. With a TEFL qualif...

phone number for granada airport parking

Hi all

Anyone know the number or website for the long stay car parks at Granada? Not the actual aiport one, since they're too dear.

Alternatively, anyone tell me whether they are likely to be open on 24th December and 6th Jan? Need to know before I book flights on those dayes.

Cheers,

PLEASE take care when engaging the help of anyone claiming to offer counselling or any kind of mental health support on the Costa del Sol. I am aware of a number of people who are working WELL beyond their qualifications and some who are even offering such services to children without being remotely...

I know of a couple of tutors but they are all based in Malaga province. By the way, please let me know if you find someone in Granada as I'm trying to compile a directory of services for English-speaking children with special needs in Andalucia. Best of luck, Kelly PS: If your child is struggling in...

Do you get any extra channels with the TDT tuners or just the standard ones? Also, probably a silly question but we brought our Sky digibox with us and it has been sitting in the garage unused for two years now. I doubt very much we'll be getting Sky (because we don't want a massive satellite dish o...

We recently used a product by a firm called Blatem. It's their anti damp paint (anti-humedad) and it's apparently breathable, so it allows any residual damp to dry out. It isn't very thick but it does seem to have covered our badly stained wall. We painted it two months ago and the stains haven't co...

Bongtrees, Thanks for posting that section from the website. I'm sure it will clarify the Child Benefit situation for some people. And you're right, the website is relatively clear on Child Benefit. However, the situation with other benefits is less clear and my experience has been one of confusion ...

We are about to put in an appeal regarding the overpayment. When I first arrived in Spain I was told SO many different things about benefits. I very nearly missed out on maternity allowance I was entitled to because the people at the inland revenue overseas office all told me different things. The s...

laptops

Anyone recommend a good laptop brand? I've got a Compaq PC and have been relatively happy with that. Are their laptops any good? If not, what should I be looking for? Just want it for writing and internet use.

Also, where can we look on-line for best deals?

Cheers in advance,

more diy advice please

Hello all. I'm still kitchen-less and am working hard at completing my rustic, obra kitchen some time in 2006. So, some more DIY questions... We bought a few bags of Mortero Blanco which had a similar consistency to the pre-mixed mortero gris, maybe a bit finer. When we went back to get some more, t...

Thanks for your advice. Our biggest problem is that with all the plants hanging off the rock in the patio, it's impossible to locate any nests. It's looking like we might have to invest in a bee suit and wade in there to investigate...or stay inside all summer. The next door neighbours have got a po...

cemento pulido

Hello all I'm in the process of doing our 'obra' kitchen units and quite fancy the cemento pulido (polished cement, I think) finish I've seen in some of the home magazines for a work surface. Anybody know how this effect is achieved? Is it a DIY job or will I have to call in professionals for that b...

wasps

We can't use our patio at the moment because of the crazy wasps. We have a huge rock (limestone) in the middle of the patio, which is covered in various plants and flowers. It's imposible to see where they are building nests. We destroyed a few nests in the roof, on window blinds, etc. but we can't ...
